Tea

Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am a tea person. I love loose teas and all kinds of teas. I love going to tea stores and getting new teas. For my birthday my sisters gave me a new tea pot. I am so excited because it's bigger than the ones I have with infusers.

Mine is the white one. It is wonderful that it has a tab on the infuser to remove the infuser with. Usually I burn my fingers trying to get the infuser out.

My favorite places to buy tea are online:

Favorite places for Afternoon Tea:

  • St Regis, Houston

  • Four Seasons, Austin

  • The Adolphus, Dallas

  • The Tea Room, Savannah, Georgia

The place I most want to go to for Afternoon Tea:

  • The Fairmont Empress, Victoria, British Columbia

Countries where I have had great tea experiences:

  • England

  • USA

  • Portugal

  • New Zealand

  • Isle of Man

  • Ireland

  • Holland

If you have not had fresh brewed loose tea, you have no idea what you are missing! There is nothing to compare to it.

Favorite Friends to Have Tea With:

  • Becky, my sister

  • Dariel, my sister

  • Kimmie, my favorite niece

  • Maryloretto, Georgetown friend

  • Nancy, Austin friend

  • Sonna, Katy friend

  • Anyone that will have tea with me!

New Author

Bill and I like to listen to books on our way to work. We never have time to read, so this is our "reading time". Harris County has a wonderful library system. You can go online and order books. Then they send you an email when it's ready to be picked up. At our branch, Lone Star College, Tomball, there is a drive through window where you can pick up books, renew books, pay fines, etc. It is wonderful. Harris County has shared libraries with the former North Harris County System which is now Lone Star College. The library is fairly new, large and has the greatest staff.

I read book reviews constantly to find new authors. I like to read a big variety of subjects, but I love thrillers. I found a new author names Robert Dugoni. I have now listened to Jury Master and Damage Control. One of my coworkers also listened to these and we both agree he's our new favorite author.

We have another series that we like, WEB Griffin's The Presidental Agent series. Lots of action and the main character is totally cute. We call them the Charlie books.

Reading by ears is great fun!!

The Former Nelsons

I was looking for a picture today for some else and out popped this picture. This was taken in 2001 at Kimmie's graduation party at the Hula Hut. So in honor of Allison moving back to Austin, I thought I would put this out there! Happy belated birthday Allison and Amanda!! From Kimmie's Aunt Ellen.
