Last weekend I went to Dallas and met my sister Becky, friend Maryloretto and her husband Keith. My niece Kimmie arranged a very nice weekend for us. Shout out to Kimmie.
We went to Dallas to see the Turner exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. It was a very nice exhibit, I learned a lot. Then from there we checked into the Intercontinental in Addison. Addison has lots of shopping and restaurants. I went into the biggest Wal-Mart I've ever seen. There is also a Corner Bakery. There is one in downtown Houston that offers great salads and sandwiches at reasonable prices.
Next we went to the Adolphus for afternoon tea. It was very nice and yummy. The lady doing the serving was excellent! We had traditional tea sandwiches, scones, truffles and desserts! The tea was Mighty Leaf, one of our favorites.
We then went back to the hotel and watched the Mavericks play in the finals.
The next day we went to Blue Mesa Grill. Probably the best buffet I've ever been to in my life. Of course it had fabulous Mexican food, blue corn cheese enchiladas, chocolate and flan cake, coconut flan, adobe pie. If you are in Dallas or Fort Worth, this is a must!!
As an aside, Best Places for Tea in Texas: Houston - St. Regis, best tea so far for me. They have a harp player, Charles the server is fabulous. Austin - The Four Seasons, very nice, rose petals on the table is a nice touch. Plus we got to see more secret service agents in one place than we've ever seen in our lives! Dallas - Adolphus, see above.
